"Can you make something like this?" There's a question I'm getting asked regularly these days. You're damn skippy I can, if you'll allow me to crow about it a little bit.
The Rooster Custom is my take on a kitchen knife that's uniquely Stationed (you see what I did, there) to also be a versatile do-it-all blade. Its owner specifically told me they intend to use it for "everything." That's a tall order, but I filled it as best I can.
It's a solid slab of CPM154 stainless steel at just a hair over 1/8" in thickness, so a little beefier than your average kitchen knife. The full flat grind terminates in a wicked sharp hand ground edge along its full length, with no ricasso and a gentle upwards sweep, which combined with the high mounted handle allows the entire thing to be brought to bear onto any surface.
The scales are a new experiment: These are 3D printed in a new pattern (i.e. not yet another recycle of the ones on the Emperor/King/Humbolt/you get the idea), dismountable and still replaceable, but vapor smoothed to seal out liquids and germs. I added a subtle patriotic flair according to the owner's wishes.
I had to find a bird to name this after, as usual. Its owner's nickname is already "Rooster." You can do the math on that one.
