Your utility knife is boring and too easy to use. Bust boxes in serious style with the Rockhopper instead — a fully 3D printed balisong utility knife designed from the ground up by yours truly and now made available to you without the need to own a 3D printer!

The Rockhopper includes many details that make it eminently EDC capable. For a start, since it's made mostly from plastic it weighs practically nothing. Just 30.3 grams or 1.07 ounces, not including a blade. It has a deep carry reversible pocket clip, and even packs in a genuine squeeze-to-release spring loaded latch.

The latch action is, if you ask me, deeply satisfying.

The Rockhopper comes with an insert that accepts standard Stanley style trapezoid utility knife blades. The same style of hook blades as well as the various ceramic trapezoid blades on the market also fit.
No blade is provided, you'll have to source your own! This is because I am fairly certain my payment processor will pitch an absolute fit if I ship you something that could be construed to be a balisong "knife." As-is, your Rockhopper will arrive as just a bunch of plastic.

Speaking of which, if you live in an area where live balisong knives are outlawed, or if you just want to git gud or possibly are chicken, a blunt plastic trainer "blade" is also provided in the kit. You can use it to practice your skills and show off to all your friends without nicking your fingers all the time.

Your Rockhopper ships in this stylish storage/collector's box...

...Which securely contains the article itself, has a storage slot that accomodates either the trainer blade or utility blade insert depending on whichever you're rocking at the moment, and also has six replacement screws (one of which is the long one required for the clip).

Go ahead, become the raddest bird on the entire iceberg. You know you want to.
The Rockhopper's mechanical components are printed in ABS plastic which is both impact and heat resistant, moreso than ordinary PLA which is the typical 3D printing material. The scales, screws, and clip are printed in colorful PLA.
Since it is a 3D printed assembly that is at the end of the day just made out of plastic, the Rockhopper carries no warranty except for replacement of any parts which are found to be broken or defective at the time of arrival. It's more than durable enough for everyday use opening boxes and packages, but I can't believe I have to tell you that it obviously won't withstand prying, rough twisting, hammering, or elsewise being smashed.
